I currently perform with an Americana group called The Two Tracks, based right here in Sheridan, Wyoming. I'm an active songwriter with numerous works registered with BMI, and have been playing cello since I was seven years old, as well as guitar and harmonica since 2004. I previously toured and performed for nearly 10 years with the "soulgrass" group Sweetwater String Band, based out of Mammoth Lakes, California, and from 2010 to 2015 I toured with The Littlest Birds. As a member of these bands I've performed at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Strawberry Music Festival, Freshgrass Music Festival, Bohemian Nights NewWestFest, Kate Wolf Festival, Oregon Country Fair, Red Ants Pants Festival, Sioux River Folk Festival, Millpond Music Festival, YarmonyGrass, Durango Bluegrass Meltdown, and many many others. As a young classical cellist growing up in Los Angeles I won numerous competitions and performed at the Hollywood Bowl and Ambassador Auditorium. I quit it all for awhile and moved to the mountains of the Eastern Sierra of California and spent several years climbing and skiing into remote regions of the mountains. I picked up the cello again in 2007 and haven't turned back. In 2015 I left California for the mountains and plains of Wyoming, eventually taking residence in Sheridan, and joining The Two Tracks. I have also recorded cello parts for Dauphin's debut release Prodigal Songs for the End of Days, and have created original soundtrack pieces for WildCoast promotional videos, and for the currently touring documentary film Dirtbag: The Legend of Fred Beckey. Please be in touch if you'd like to have cello on your record, or to discuss commissioning an original soundtrack piece for your film. I have all the tools necessary to record high quality audio.
I have also begun offering cello lessons. If you're local to Sheridan, WY we can arrange for them in person, or elsewhere we can do them via Skype. These are bluegrass / folk cello lessons, not classical instruction. We can cover a variety of bowing techniques, and finger patterns, and fine tune your overall mechanics to better suit bluegrass and folk music. Shoot me an email if you're interested!
